Control System for LACT Dispatch Unit

Challenge

A controller was required for process control to replace relay-based logic, with handling of multiple protocols, distributed I/O, redundancy, and PID control, suitable for the Oil & Gas industry, capable of bringing the LACT unit and Master Station signals to the plant’s control system (BPCS).

Approach

• Implementation of an Allen Bradley controller, included in the Ecopetrol Vendor List.
• Control system based on Rockwell technology.
• Integration of LACT unit and Master Station signals to the plant BPCS.

Results

Robust industrial control integrated with the BPCS, suitable for dispatch operations in the Oil & Gas sector.
